Tuna and Takakau week.

Our school has been learning about Tuna and Takakau for the past few weeks and all week the children of Kawakawa Primary have been catching Tuna and bringing them in to school to be weighed and measured.  Alyssa and her sister Talia caught this beauty together, however Alyssa was not very keen to hold the tuna for photos.  Well done girls!

  1. It was such a fun week wasn't it Room 2? Room 6 had lots of fun making their own hinaki and trying to catch Tuna. Maybe next year you could make your own hinkai too and try catch tuna. Well done everyone who entered.

  2. Kia ora Room 2,
I loved following your Tuna and Takakau week through your school Facebook page and was SO impressed with some of the Tuna you caught! I think I would be like Alyssa and not to keen to hold it! When I was growing up I lived near a Tuna farm and used to watch people walking in the water surrounded by slimy Tuna! Are you hoping to make your own hinaki next year like Mrs Henare has suggested?
