Our class read the famous poem "Twas the night before Christmas" (Otherwise known as A visit from St. Nicholas) Written by Clement Clarke Moore. Here is Miria, Payton and Tahlya's animation based on this poem. Enjoy!

Best Class of the week!!!
Hooray!! We were picked as best class of the week at Kawakawa Primary. All week we had to
(1) Line up ready for Morning Assembly,
(2) Sing our waiata with pride.
(3) Show respect by listening and keeping quiet.
Now we get to have a special hot lunch at school...mmmm... We also get to pick who the best class will be next week. I wonder who it will be?

Athletics day by Qaiden
Splash! On went the paint in Room 2. It was as bright as the blue sun, I felt very proud of my house. The whole of Room 2 had paint to represent their house on the wet Friday morning . We had Athletics to see who is going to Paihia. I was as excited as a cheetah.
We finished high jump and then we were with Whaea Sally. Yay! Shot put. We got into a 4 lines and I had the 3rd shot, I was 1st place for 2 rounds until ... Ngapua took me over to 2nd. And guess what happened… Jahrome took Ngapua over so it was Jahrome 1st, Nguapua 2nd and ME 3rd.
100 meter House relays the year 5s were running (I’m a year 5) but I wasn’t in the year 5 race they chose me for the year 6 race. I ran like a hare. I ran there first and I made it back first. We ended up winning the race in style. Overall we won 3 / 8 100 meter runs (there were 4 teams Ngapipito, Waiomio, Taumarere and Tirohanga) I was proud.

The Hardcore Dance Company comes to Kawakawa Primary
We were very fortunate to have the Hardcore Dance Company perform for us today.
It was extra special because Payton's sister Paris was one of the dancers in the crew.
Here she is taking center stage below.
The best part of the show was when some of our school were picked to go up on stage and dance with the crew as well. Even Mrs Henare went on stage to bust some moves. Can you spot her?
A Splash of Colour in the classroom
Yesterday Whaea Sally was out for the day at a Te Reo Maori Workshop in Kaikohe.
But boy did she get a special surprise from us when she walked into the classroom!
Scattered around the room were our Halloween Houses that we worked on with Mrs Cowles. They were colourful, bold and Whaea Sally absolutely loved them! She can't wait to show them off at our Art Exhibition in week 8.
